A Simple Birthday Wish

Charity Water Campaign2 2013I was born in September, and another birthday will soon be here. Usually, I’m stumped when people ask me what I want. Truth be told, I have everything I really need, and I don’t have too many material desires. So, this year I wanted to do something different for my birthday. I don’t want presents or gift cards. I want to help bring a basic necessity, clean water, to people who desperately need it.

Women and children around the world walk hours every day to collect water for their families. And worse, the water they collect can make them really sick. Together we can actually do something about it. Just $20 can give a person in some of the worst conditions imaginable clean water to drink.  So, my simple birthday wish this year is to raise $5000 to help bring clean water and the dignity that comes along with it to the families of Orissa, India.

Charity Water Campaign 2013

The best part is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects around the world in places like Orissa, India. In about 18 months when the projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a birthday.

So, how can you help? Please share this. Please link to it from your own site(s). And, please donate to my campaign. Let’s team up, spread the word, and raise at least $5000.  Together, let’s help bring clean water to those who need it most so they too can reach their next birthdays.
